PROJECTED OPENING DATE: No New Intel At This Time
1401 Pennsylvania Ave SE
Neighborhood Restaurant Group is collaborating with a variety of vendors for the new multi-use food and beverage hall: The Roost. Confirmed residents of the 12,000 square-foot concept include Shelter, Show of Hands, Hi/Fi Taco and Caruso Grocery. The first, Shelter, is serving a variety of draft lines; fifty to be exact. However, the new concept will place an emphasis on low-ABV beers and will be specializing in IPA hard ciders, and stouts. Show of Hands is the second confirmed concept and will function as the larger bar within The Roost. As both of these venues are led by spirits director Nick Farrell, Show of Hands will also focus on serving libations with low alcohol content. Guests can expect housemade spirits like limoncello, vermouth, absinthe, and seasonal fruit liqueurs. In terms of food, The Roost will house Hi/Fi Taco, which will be led by Nate Anda and will be serving up creative twists on the beloved dish. Anda has crafted a menu that will incorporate innovative ingredients like atomic whiz, labneh, and pigs head. Caruso Grocery, slated to open adjacent to The Roost, will offer guests a reinvented menu of Italian-American fare. Guests can expect handcrafted dishes like rigatoni alla vodka, five cheese ravioli, and chicken parmigiana. A new coffee shop lead by Nazia Khan, formerly of the Wydown, is expected to open in The Roost in Early 2020. Cameo is expected to feature a variety of roasters as well as coffee and tea from around the world and will remain open all day.
