The Fest offers the opportunity to sample hundreds of wines from all over New York and the World, taste culinary delicacies from the Valley's best restaurants and caterers, learn the secrets of celebrity chefs and wine experts, as well as shop for gourmet specialty foods, fine crafts and listen to live music. During the Fest weekend you can sample special dishes in the Gourmet Food Showcase and take part in lots of free cooking demonstrations and wine seminars. You can also enjoy live music and other special performances while relaxing in our Music Tent. $30 day/ $50 weekend per wine tasting ticket; $15 day/ $25 weekend regular admission ticket. Building on the success of the 2008 and 2009 Festivals, the 2010 Festival is set to turn up the heat in New York City this Columbus Day weekend. The Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival presented by Food & Wine and Travel + Leisure magazines began as a one night event, SWEET, in the fall of 2007. In 2008, Festival Founder and Director Lee Brian Schrager of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, launched the inaugural Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival. The first annual Festival consisted of over 80 events. The second annual Festival in 2009 grew to over 120 events held throughout the Meatpacking District and beyond. Festival events ranged from extravagant walk-around tastings like the Burger Bash, SWEET, and the Grand Tasting, to culinary demonstrations and educational wine and food pairing seminars led by the industry's biggest names, to kids-oriented interactive cooking experiences and, local events incorporating the businesses in the host area, the Meatpacking District.
