Free Screening of 'The 47' at Landmark's Bethesda Row Cinema

The Delegation of the Government of Catalonia to the United States and Canada invites audiences to a free screening of The 47, a biographical drama directed by Marcel Barrena. The film, presented in Catalan with English subtitles, will be shown on Tuesday, October 14, at 7 p.m. at Landmark’s Bethesda Row Cinema (7235 Woodmont Ave, Bethesda, MD 20814). Based on an inspiring true story, The 47 follows Manolo Vital, a determined Barcelona bus driver who challenges the City Council’s claims that the narrow, unsafe streets of the Torre Baró neighborhood made public transportation impossible. Refusing to accept exclusion, Vital takes matters into his own hands—driving “The 47” through the neighborhood himself to prove that access and connection were not only possible but necessary for the community’s future.
