The Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square just welcomed one-year-old Louis as the hotel’s first Canine Ambassador. This little 12-pound terrier mix was adopted from Lucky Dog Animal Rescue by General Manager Karla Erales, as he arrived via transport from an out-of-state euthanasia shelter. Louis will spend time in the lobby, where guests can visit and assist him with his socialization. Eventually, Louis would like to attend meeting breaks to visit with groups, take walks around the city’s monuments, and host adoption events for other Lucky Dogs. Guests who stay at the Sofitel with their own canine companions will enjoy the in-room dining menu of chicken, salmon, or steak created just for dogs by the hotel’s culinary team, and get to sniff-meet Louis.
