JET’s Beauty of the Week Comes to Life Event

On Tuesday, November 11, from 6 to 9 PM, the fourth installment of the signature Govinda Gallery Live series will present Black is Beautiful: JET Beauties of the Week (powerHouse Books). The evening offers an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at American vocalist and founding member of The 5th Dimension, Lamonte McLemore’s iconic photographs for JET Magazine—spanning over four decades. Hosted by Govinda Gallery founder and book editor Chris Murray, the event features special guest Jayne Kennedy, the award-winning actress, trailblazing sports broadcaster, and longtime friend of McLemore, whose portraits appear in the book. Together, they’ll share personal stories from their creative collaboration, accompanied by a stunning photography presentation, immersive storytelling, and a family-style feast prepared by Chef Crovato.
