The Takoma Park Farmers Market Annual Pie Contest returns on Sunday, September 14, 2025, bringing together community spirit, seasonal flavors, and friendly competition. Bakers are invited to enter their best sweet or savory pies made with fresh market ingredients. Entries will be judged by a panel of celebrity judges, with prizes awarded in categories such as Best Apple Pie, Best Peach Pie, Best Kid’s Pie, and Most Unusual Pie.

Following the contest, all pies will be sliced and shared with the public for a suggested donation of $4 per slice. Proceeds support the Takoma Park Farmers Market SNAP Match Program, helping increase access to fresh, local food.

Schedule:

Pie Delivery: 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM (no pre-registration required)

Judging: 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Pie Slice Tickets on Sale: starting at 12:00 PM

Winners Announced: 12:30 PM

Pie Slices Available: 12:30 PM
