This One's for the Girls

Forget Valentine’s Day—February 13 (or really, any day) is all about celebrating the incredible women in our lives! Originally dreamt up by Parks and Recreation’s Leslie Knope (thank you, Amy Poehler and the genius writers behind her!), Galentine’s Day has leapt from the screen into real life, becoming a full-fledged celebration of friendship, empowerment, and all things fabulous. From brunches and bubbly to spa days and shopping sprees, Galentine’s is the perfect excuse to shower your besties with love. And trust us, the DMV is all in—restaurants, bars, and boutiques are rolling out the red carpet with themed events, special menus, and deals designed for you and your girl gang.

Arrels: Gather your best girlfriends and join Arrels for an unforgettable Galentine’s celebration. You can indulge in the Pim Pam Pum unlimited plates experience for $55 per person, available from 5:00 - 8:30 p.m. Wines by the bottle and sangria pitchers will be available at half price. Beauty, Champagne, & Sugar Boutique: On February 14th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., gather your friends for a fun and creative Galentine’s Craft & Cocktail Night. Generator DC: This Galentine’s Day, all U.S. Generator locations are teaming up with dating app OkCupid to host an evening of mingling and speed dating to celebrate the holiday. Whether you’re looking to find love yourself or want to wingman your bestie, Galentine’s day is the perfect opportunity to spend time with friends and give each other the confidence boost to get out there. After the festivities, Speed Daters who hit it off are welcome to continue their evening with a free concert to follow from the artists of Breaking Sound Series, uplifting the next big independent musicians with live concerts across the country. Never Looked Better: Check out Blagden Alley’s underground bar for your next GNO this Galentine’s Day. The neon pink lounge screams Galentine’s, with floral decor and pink cocktails to match. in February 13th, they will have a DJ playing top hits for you and your besties to dance the night away, as well as specialty cocktails themed around the holiday, from red to pink concoctions like their signature cosmopolitan.

Hotel Heron: Join Hotel Heron for a fun, interactive wine class with their very own expert sommelier, Liz Martinez! Learn tasting techniques, pairing tips, and discover new favorites to fall in love for this Valentines Day. King Street Oyster Bar: In collaboration with Artisans and Vines, King Street Oyster Bar will be hosting a 5-course wine dinner, each course paired with wine, at the City Ridge location on February 13th. The dinner is priced at $90 per person. This will include a 5-course curated menu that will pair wonderfully with the wines that Artisans and Vines will be showcasing. Quadrant: On February 15th and February 16th, Quadrant will have a special tea-time for Galentine’s Day from female Head Chef, Mile Montezuma!
