No Truffle Trouble Here
So, there’s only two troubles we can think of when it comes to those heady scented bulbs: 1) the hunt to find them and 2) not enough silvers on our pasta! Seriously though, we here at TheList are just a group of girls who can't say no to the server that comes to our table truffles slicer in hand, ready to shave paper-thin sheets of the fungi over our dish. Lucky for all of us, there’s several places looking to enhance our dining experience:
Cafe Riggs
Cafe Riggs, located inside the Riggs hotel, has an array of truffle options on the dinner menu for you to enjoy. There is Truffle Risotto with black truffle, fava, and saffron and for a shareable option you can try the Crispy Chicken served with crispy potatoes, carrot pesto, and truffle jus, along with fresh Italian black truffles garnished on top. 900 F Street NW; 202.788.2800; riggsdc.com
CUT
Truffle lovers can rejoice because CUT by Wolfgang Puck imports rare white truffles from Italy for a variety of their seasonal dishes. For one of these special dishes, Executive Chef Andrew Skala uses a hollowed-out red kuri pumpkin, which is then filled with pumpkin risotto with pine nuts, Vermont cultured butter, Parmigiano Reggiano and freshly shaved truffles. Another truffle dish is the whole salt-roasted celery root with melted leeks, hazelnut and white truffles. 1050 31st Street NW; 202.617.2424; wolfgangpuck.com
