The extraordinary Utsuwa Collection, featuring 300-year-old Imari porcelain, will make a rare stateside appearance in Easton, Maryland, for three days only—Thursday, July 17 through Saturday, July 19, 2025. Presented exclusively at Bluepoint Hospitality venues, this museum-quality exhibition will be on view at the Zach Gallery from 10 AM to 4 PM daily. These masterworks of Japanese ceramic artistry date back to the Edo period, when Imari porcelain held a revered place in imperial courts. In honor of the collection, Michelin-starred Chef Hirohisa Hayashi will travel from his celebrated Soho restaurant to Easton, offering kappo-style dinners that pay homage to the legacy of these sacred vessels. On July 17 and 18, Hayashi will present his culinary creations at The Stewart, followed by a final evening at the acclaimed Bas Rouge on July 19. Each dish will be thoughtfully plated on these rare ceramics, blending simplicity and reverence with artistic expression. The exhibition also features works by Japan’s foremost contemporary ceramicists and original ukiyo-e prints, offering a multifaceted cultural experience that bridges centuries of Japanese craftsmanship.
