Blossom Kite Festival

The Blossom Kite Festival invites visitors to the Washington Monument Grounds for a lively day filled with soaring kite activities, music, competitions, and performances. Kite enthusiasts, beginners, families, and friends are all welcome to take part in one of the most vibrant celebrations on the National Mall. Guests can enjoy family-friendly kite-making activities, live entertainment, and the simple joy of launching kites alongside thousands of participants while relaxing with a picnic on the lawn. The festival also features Sakura Taiko Fest, produced by Washington, DC–based Japanese drumming group Miyako Taiko, where an impressive lineup of Taiko drummers from across the country will perform at the Sylvan Theatre from Noon to 5 PM, delivering a powerful and energetic celebration of rhythm and culture.
