The High Holidays Are Right on Time

Buzz

The High Holidays always feel “early or late,” and this year they're right on time. Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, begins at sundown on Monday, September 22, 2025. Time to gather, hear the shofar, dip apples into honey, and symbolically cast our mistakes into moving water (tashlich).

Then, just over a week later, Yom Kippur begins at sundown on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, followed by a day of fasting and reflection through nightfall on Thursday, October 2 and, of course, a celebratory break-fast to finish

For those who celebrate, the last thing you want to stress about is what to serve. Fortunately, we’ve got you covered with all the brisket, matzo ball soup, challah, fish, bagels, and schmears you’ll need.

L’Shanah Tovah to all who observe and may this year be a sweet one.
