A Terrific Time for Tea
If you know me, you know I’m all about a good afternoon tea situation — whether it’s high tea or something high tea-adjacent. There’s just something magical about being tucked into a posh setting, slowly sipping a variety of teas, and piling my scone sky-high with all the clotted cream.
Lucky for me, I recently luxuriated at the stunning Pendry on The Wharf and got a sneak peek of their decadent Boozy Tea — they’ve completely redefined the tea cocktail game. Honestly, I had no idea I needed a boozy tea until I had one.
Just recently, the Bar Pendry has given their popular Boozy Tea a cherry blossom-inspired twist. Think creative concoctions like the Hibiscus Hana — a black tea blended with Haku vodka, Roku gin, St. Germain, and hints of orange bitters and lemon — dangerously delicious. Or the Sakesso Serenade, a blend of Tozai plum sake, sakura tea, bitters, and lemon — it’s perfectly floral.
Tea isn’t tea without the bites, like the new feature, the duck pate toast served on a buttery brioche bun with cherry compote and duck prosciutto. And let’s not forget the seasonal pastries, like the pink grapefruit strawberry bon bons.
AND if you’re like me and can’t get enough tea (or clotted cream), don’t worry — there are plenty more fabulous tea experiences happening all over the DMV —>
