Join Pacifico for DC's funniest Cinco de Mayo celebration - the 10th Annual Running of the Chihuahuas! Since 2012, the Running has raised over $15,000 for animal charities, and this year 100% of race entries benefit Rural Dog Rescue - a non-profit organization dedicated to pulling dogs from high-kill rural shelters to help them find their forever homes. The Running of the Chihuahuas will feature over 90 Chihuahuas racing in groups of 8. Only Chihuahuas may participate in races, but all dog breeds can take part in the excitement with the all-dog contest for best-dressed. Entry for sepctators of the races and costume contest is free to the public, and entry fees for the race is $30 per person/dog. Registration for races closes on May 6th, but walk-up registrants will be accepted on race day until all spots are full. The race and costume contest will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information about the event and to register for the Running visit Eventbrite.
