Alexandria's hometown destination race returns on Sunday, April 23rd when the 39th PNC Parkway Classic returns. The race, organized by local running retailer Pacers Running, attracts thousands of runners and spectators who want to experience the George Washington Memorial Parkway from a unique perpsective. The race features both a 5k ($45) and a 10-mile race ($85) starting at 8:00 a.m., as well as a 600-meter Kids Dash at 10:30 a.m. Post race, participants who are 21+ will recieve a complimentary beverage and join local brewery sponsor, Port City Brewery, at an after party at Oronoco Bay Park.
