90-year-old whiskey, bottomless champagne, and Prohibition-era cocktails. There's no better place to celebrate the abolition of the booze-prohibiting 18th amendment than with the largest selection of whiskey in the Western hemisphere. Jack Rose is celebrating the day alcohol was made legal once again with its 9th Annual Repeal Day Celebration. The day will include bottomless bubbles, food specials, live entertainment, vintage films, and an antique spirits tasting. The event is free-to-attend, and open-to-the-public from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Guests may additionally come out early from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for a Repeal Day Spirits Tasting hosted by owner and collector Bill Thomas. Bill will guide you through vintage whiskeys, rums, and armagnac from the 1930s-50s. Tickets are priced at $110 per ticket and includes two welcome cocktails, passed Prohibition-themed hors d'oeuvres, and a tasting of six antique spirits dating back 70-90 years. Purchase tickets for this tasting here.
Finally, guests are encouraged to dress to the nines in flapper dresses and swanky suits, donning their most Prohibition-era attire, for a chance to win a $150 gift certificate.
