Celebrate Georgia Avenue’s vibrant African immigrant community with Africa on the Avenue on July 23, 2022. Enjoy art, music, food, fashion, artisans, and braiding demonstrations. Performances by DMV Rumberos: ensemble of drummers playing predominately Afro-Cuban rhythms, and Dòkun: Nigerian guitarist Dokun and his Afrotonics band. Braiding on-site by local Georgia Avenue businesses including African Hair Braiding by Fatu and Margueritte Hair Braiding. 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information, please click here.
