Join the Embassy of France for a fun, interactive wine tasting experience celebrating Pinot Gris around the world — followed by a traditional Alsace dinner. The evening will begin with an interactive introduction to the art of wine tasting. Caroline Whiteman, WSET Levl 3 certified wine expert and Alsace DC President will guide you through the basics of tasting wine. Then comes the fun part: a comparative tasting of four Pinot Gris/Pinot Grigio wines from around the world: Alsace - France, United States, Italy and New Zealand. Taste them side by side and discover how climate, terroir, winemaking and regional traditions can create remarkably different wines from the same grape. The tasting will be followed by a traditional Alsatian 3-course dinner at the French Embassy in Washington DC.
