Bar Basics Series

Kick-off the New Year by learning a new skill with Columbia Room owner Derek Brown’s Bar Basics Series, drawing from training he's designed for his own bartenders. Classes begin with “Intro to Bartending” where Brown will direct students on the basics of craft bartending, from shaking to muddling, stocking to serving. “Intro to Bartending” will serve as an introduction to basic bartending techniques such as stirring and shaking, classes can be taken alone or in conjunction with others in the series. Other class topics range from “Tools of the Trade” and “Entertaining and Stocking Your Home Bar,” to “Advanced Techniques” and “Bitters and Tinctures.”  All classes include cocktail samples, recipes, and hands-on instruction. Tickets cost $125 per person and  are limited and can be purchased by clicking here.
