While meaningless names to most American wine consumers, grapes such as: Kallmet, Blatina, Vranac, Mavrud, Melik, Prokupac, Kardarka, Kakfrankos, Plavac Mali, Teran, Laska, Saperavi, Rară Neagră,Feteasca Neagra and others have a rich history in Eastern Europe. And while many of these grapes were ripped out by former communist regimes and supplanted with international varieties, a growing number of passionate winemakers & importers see them as the way forward. Jay Youmans MW will share his findings on these fascinating grapes & producers (lineup subject to change). $85 per person, includes approximately 12 wines. Register here. 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
