Home to both Barolo and Barbaresco, the Langhe is a region within the province of Piedmont that offers red wines at the very highest global level and produces a richer abundance of great food than any other location of comparable size. Langhe also offers fantastic white and sparkling wines and one of the world's best wine schools that sends fresh talent into the region every year, including the talent that established DOCG appellations like Barolo and Roero. An exhilarating trip to this region by Michael Franz in lateMay inspired this blind tasting of the region's msot remarkable offerings, ranging from Barolo and Roero Riserva to novel wines so compelling that their future fame is near guaranteed.
