Go-Go Legends Rare Essence Bring Summer Kickoff to Ivy City’s Rooftop Tavern

Rare Essence, DC’s legendary Go-Go band, will headline the summer kickoff event at Ivy City Smokehouse’s Rooftop Tavern on Sunday, July 20th from 6 PM to 11 PM. A cornerstone of the city’s music scene for over four decades, Rare Essence continues to draw crowds with the unmistakable funk sound born in the mid-70s and championed by the late Chuck Brown, the Godfather of Go-Go.
