The Howard Houghes Corporation is proud to present their 2022 Summer Series in the Merriweather District! This years' series will feature the Good Kid-izen series which has lined up fun and educational activities touching on diversity, inclusion and education for the entire family.
Each weekend will focus on a different topic, a breakdown of each is included below. Entry to each event is free, but you must RSVP in advance here.
June 11th: Pride and Inclusion, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Celebrate Pride with a summer pool party kickoff! Enjoy rainbow-themed crafts, a dance party and a reading from the Howard County Library System
June 25th: Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Grow your mind with interactive stations focusing on sustainability, plants from local flower growers, the importance of butterflies and bees from the Howard County Beekeeper association, and a dance party!
July 9th: Music and Culture, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
It will be a musical morning in the Merriweather District! Kick off the day with a Bollywood dance lesson, rock out to Columbia's own School of Rock, and wrap up the morning with some Salsa!
July 23rd: Art and Community, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Have you ever wanted to learn more about street art? Now is your chance to enjoy this original graffiti art class where you can explore your creative side as you learn basic drawing techniques, graffiti art letter formations, and spray paint techniques.
