Jazz in the Gardens Returns with Ten Concerts this Summer

Every Friday from May 20th through July 22nd, the Sculpture Garden at The National Gallery of Art will come alive with jazz performances ranging in style from Afro-Cuban to bluegrass. Highlighted mucisians this summer include Pedrito Martinez, widely recognized as the leading percussionist in Afro-Cuban music, Grammy-nominated Daniel Ho and his band, and Delfeayo Marsalis, National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master.
Guest will be able to purchase refreshments from the Pavilion Café and pop-up bars throughout the Garden. Visitors may also bring their own picnics, however they may not bring their own alcoholic beverages.
Registration for the concerts is free, but is required for all attendees ages 2 and up. Registration will open at 12:00 p.m. one week before each concert. On concert days, the Sculpture Garden will re-open at 5:00 p.m., and concerts will begin at 6:00 p.m. Questions can be mailed to [email protected].
