Mark your calendars for Cheesetique's online class, Portugal Perfect, exploring cheeses and wine of the region. Portugal is one of the most interesting—and under-represented—cheese and wine regions in the world. The cheeses are exotic and varied, but approachable. The wines are world-class and beautifully priced. Be the one "in the know" about this fabulous home of cheese and wine excellence with this virtual class with Cheese Lady Jill Erber. Your class kit serves two to four people and includes five cheeses: tender castelinhos (pasteurized cow), pepper-rubbed casa de mendevil velho (pasteurized cow), grassy cabra da beira baixa (raw goat), tangy-buttery serpa (raw sheep), and firm, nutty queijo de nisa (raw sheep). For pairing, you'll add homemade red pepper spread and a crisp crackers. Your quintessential Portuguese red blend is the Herdade do Esporão Reserva Red 2016 (91 points Wine Enthusiast, 91 points Robert Parker Wine Advocate). Made exclusively with hand-harvested grapes from the estate, it offers the consistency and personality typical of the unique terroir from whence it comes. No wine could be better with the spectrum of cheeses. $55.99 for class access and class kit. Wine available as an add-on for an additional $34.99 per bottle.
