Finesse your ability to write an interest-piquing hook, negotiate your fee, and how to prepare a contract, as well as how to best maintain your rights as an author. Each participant will receive two rounds of feedback on a pitch for a single story. Required reading for the class is So You Want To Be A Writer: How to get started (while you still have a day job), by Allison Tait and Valerie Khoo, and can be purchased for $15.95 from Politics and Prose.
