Meet the Winemakers Dinner at Supra
1205 11th Street NW
Supra invites guests to gather for its next “Meet the Winemakers” Dinner on Thursday, November 6th at 6:30 PM, a celebratory evening highlighting the traditions, flavors, and wines of Georgia. The evening features a five-course feast of Georgian classics paired with exceptional wines, offering a culinary and cultural journey through the country’s renowned winemaking heritage.
Guests will have the rare opportunity to meet the “Wizard of Chinuri,” Iago Bitarishvili of Iago’s Wine, and Mikheil Chonishvili of Chona’s Marani, two of Georgia’s most respected winemakers. Throughout the evening, Mamuka Tsereteli, Founder of Georgian Wine House, will lead traditional Georgian toasts, or supra, honoring the art of hospitality and community.
The dinner will feature dishes from Supra’s new fall menu, plus one exclusive creation prepared just for this event. Highlights from the wine-paired menu include the Gobi “Friends” Platter of pkhali, eggplant-walnut rolls, and sulguni cheese; Grilled Pear Salad with candied pumpkin seeds; and Beef Shank Khashlama braised in rich stock with garlic jus. Guests will also enjoy Iago’s Chinuri (Skin Contact) 2023, Chona’s Saperavi 2023, and Iago’s Chinuri-Tavkveri Sparkling Pet-Nat 2022, among other selections. The evening concludes with Pelamushi, a traditional grape dessert from Georgia’s wine country.
Doors open at 6:30 PM, with the first course served at 7:00 PM. Seating will be communal, service will be family-style, and tickets include all food, wine, dessert, gratuity, and tax. Guests are encouraged to bring friends—or make new ones—at Supra’s lively supra table for an unforgettable night of food, wine, and fellowship.
