When:
March 31,2022 – March 31,2022 all-day Repeats
Where:
Silver Lyan in Riggs Washington D.C
900 F Street NW

Internationally acclaimed bartender Ryan Chetiyawardana (aka Mr Lyan) and Silver Lyan announce an immersive pop-up experience in collaboration with Masa Urushido’s award-winning New York City bar Katana Kitten. The collaboration is inspired by the Japanese custom of flower viewing known as hanami and the original 1912 gift of cherry trees from the people of Japan to the United States. Marking the first partnership between Masa and Mr. Lyan, this limited-run concept will transform Silver Lyan’s subterranean space in Riggs Washington D.C. from March 31st through April 2nd, just in time for the Cherry Blossom season. Imbibers can expect a bespoke menu featuring House of Suntory spirits – including Suntory Whisky Toki®, Haku® Vodka and Roku® Gin – which masterfully weave together the ethos of both Silver Lyan and Katana Kitten. Silver Lyan takes inspiration from the history of cultural exchange in America, pairing innovative ingredients with traditional techniques, and as Masa says, Katana Kitten is a “full-throttle Japanese-American bar, a hybrid of two formidable drinking cultures with each given equal respect and prominence.” Collaborating on a menu that embraces the expertise and skills of both bar teams, cocktails will reflect a melding of culture with an emphasis on innovative and unexpected ingredients. Located in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Katana Kitten has quickly made a name for itself. Its collaboration with Silver Lyan marks the bar’s first pop-up in Washington, D.C. Silver Lyan invites you to step into the inviting underground world created by decorated bar visionary Ryan Chetiyawardana (“Mr Lyan”) in Riggs Washington DC’s historic bank vault, where each drink pays homage to the spices, flavors and traditions that make up America’s diverse cultural heritage. The Silver Lyan x Katana Kitten pop-up will run from Thursday, March 31st through Saturday, April 2nd from 5:00 p.m. to late.
