In celebration of Wimbledon, the popular ping pong social club, SPIN, will host a series of upcoming events at its Downtown DC studio. The celebration includes events such as a Community Ping Pong Tournament, a White Party, and a Kids Day. During the community ping pong tournament on Monday, teams of three are invited to compete for the SPINBLEDON trophy. You must wear all white and submit a $50 entry fee to play, however spectators entrance is free. This event is from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. At the SPINBLEDON White Party on Friday, the AstroTurf is set and the bar is stocked for the largest ping pong party around in celebration of the Wimbledon championship. Come out for SPIN’s weekly challenger night in your best tennis whites for the chance to claim glory over their professional players. Communal ping pong tables will be available for games plus happy hour deals will be available all night to those who dress in all white for the occasion. Entrance is free but RSVP’ing is recommended. This event is from 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The SPINBLEDON Kids Day on Saturday, is an afternoon of ping pong activities for the whole family. You can take free instructional lessons from professional staff members at center court, line up for face painting, or snacks from an exclusive menu designed with SPIN’s younger players in mind. The specialty menu features kid-friendly mocktails as well as margherita pizzas, burger sliders & fries, and “hop pop” chicken nuggets. Entrance is free for kids under 12; kids 12 and older and adult tickets are $15.
