The Washington Concert Opera is proud to announce their 2022-2023 season featuring the season's theme "Stories Through Sound" and the works of Donizetti and Verdi in an homage to the company's love for bel canto. Two mainstage productions will showcase new and returning talent from some of opera's best voices from around the globe. The first WCO main-stage performance will take place December 4, 2022 with Donizetti's Roberto Devereaux, a piece from his "Tudor Trilogy". The second WCO main-stage performance will feature Verdi's Nabucco on March 4th 2023, in one of his first works that is considered the first patriotic opera of its time and holds what might be the most famous chorus tune ever written, "Va, penisero".
