INDUSTRY NIGHT

On this week's Industry Night with Foodie & the Beast, we start with Sam Sgroi and Sara Abdel-Rahim met in the same study abroad program in Amman, Jordan in 2015, and were moved by seeing the challenges faced by more than 700,000 Syrian refugees in Amman. The two have come to talk to us about their non-profit dinner series, Tables Without Borders, that features refugee and asylum-seeker chefs in DC as a way to help displaced people in DC, specifically those with a culinary experience, reestablish themselves and build a community motivated to support them.

Next, we bring on 'Renaissance Man' Nate Mook -“ He serves as executive director of World Central Kitchen, the non-profit organization founded by Chef Jos- Andr's to leverage the expertise of chefs and implement smart solutions to hunger and poverty.
