Alerta de Artisa: Ninot Indultat Contest at Xiquet DL
In honor of Las Fallas, the traditional annual Valencian celebration, Valencian fine dining concept Xiquet DL is hosting their first-ever Ninot Indultat Contest @ Xiquet DL to bring a taste of the famous Valencian celebration here to Washington, DC. During Las Fallas, hundreds of outdoor art installations known as Ninots are deliberately burned to the ground in an anarchic celebration of creativity, mortality, and rebirth. The Indultat's are the best Ninots that are traditionally saved from being burnt from the fire. To recreate the celebration, chef/owner Danny Lledo is welcoming local artists and community members to participate in the upcoming competition by creating their own miniature replicas of the Ninots to represent this traditional holiday. The best Ninots will receive the following:
1st Place – Cash prize of $500, a Xiquet DL tasting menu dinner with wine pairing, and a Levante UD Jersey signed by all of the soccer players
2nd place – Cash prize of $250 and a Xiquet DL tasting menu dinner with wine pairing
3rd place – Cash prize of $100 and a Chef Tasting Xiquet menu dinner for two.
