What's that? Your PRIDE is showing. And ICYMI, June is Pride Month. The LGBTQ communities & their allies from around the world come together to celebrate the freedom to just be. Amid all the festivities, it is important to remember that these gatherings have a tough history. The LBGTQIA+ community has struggled mightily with mistreatment, prejudice, and recognition. This is a time to show support, observe, and listen. is an incredibly loud & proud ally and committed to protecting civil liberties for everyone All. Year. Long. Pride Drag Brunch Benefitting SMYAL at All-Purpose Capitol Riverfront: All-Purpose Capitol Riverfront will host its final Monumental Drag Brunch of the season during Pride month on Saturday, June 22nd, hosted by Darcy de la Cuadra. Your $20 ticket grants admission to the event with the option to add bottomless Bellinis, Mimosas, and Aperol Spritzes on the day of for $19. *NEW* Pride Paw-Parade Brunch & Costume Contest at The Darcy Hotel: The Darcy Hotel is hosting a Pride Paw-Parade Brunch and costume contest to celebrate Capital Pride on Sunday, June 9th. Dress up your furry friends in their best Pride costumes for a pet parade around the hotel for a costume contest. The contest will be judged by the hotel’s Pride Month artist-in-residence, Lisa Marie Thalhammer, who will have LGBTQ+ inspired murals displayed throughout the hotel this weekend. Winners will receive special prizes, including an overnight staycation and dinner and brunch for two at Gerrard Street Kitchen. All-Day Happy Hour for Capital Pride Parade Weekend at Dauphine's: On Saturday, June 8th and Sunday, June 9th, Dauphine's will offer all-day happy hour from 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Happy Hour offerings include New Orleans-inspired cocktails such as Pimm's Cup, Lion's Tail Highball, Tequila Roffignac, and more. Pride Specials at Pizzeria Paradiso: During June, all 4 Pizzeria Paradiso locations will serve a Pride Pizza that was dreamed up by a proud LGBTQ+ employee. Like many members of the Puerto Rican diaspora, Alec Rivera was born in the mainland US to parents who were raised on the island. Puerto Rican culture, music, and food were an integral part of Alec’s upbringing. Specialty Pride Cocktail Menu at Swingers Crazy Golf: In partnership with Absolut Vodka, Swingers, The Crazy Golf Club created a specialty Pride cocktail menu for the month of June. 3rd Annual Takoma Pride: The 3rd Annual Takoma Pride Day will be held on Sunday, June 9th from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The day will kick off with the Pride parade and all are welcome to march with messages of Pride down Carroll Avenue. The parade ends at Laurel Avenue where the Takoma Pride Street Fair will take place.
