14th Annual DC Crab Cake Competition

The DC Food & Beverage Collective (DCFBC) and The Tavern at Ivy City Smokehouse are pleased to host the 14th Annual DC Crab Cake Competition. The contest will pit eight of the area’s top chefs against one another in a crab cake showdown utilizing Department-verified Maryland blue crab. Competitors include Marcelle Afram from Blue Jacket, Angel Barreto from Anju, Nathan Beauchamp from Tiger Fork, Anna Bran-Leis from Dos Mamis, Adam Greenberg from Coconut Club, Myo Htun from Zeppelin & Chaplin's, Sanjay Mandhaiya from Pappe, and Stephen Taylor from Hank's Oyster Bar. The winning chef’s restaurant will receive funds to support a culinary intern in their kitchen. You will have the opportunity to sample each of the chef contestants’ crab cakes and cast a vote for the People's Choice award. In addition, enjoy an oyster bar, New England clam chowder station, and other passed appetizers for which Ivy City Smokehouse is known. Selected wines, beer, tax, and gratuity are included in the price of admission. In addition to this “main event,” students from area culinary schools or programs will compete in their own crab cake competition.
