Ayrshire Farm Hosts Outstanding In The Field Dinner
21846 Trappe Road, Upperville VA
Ayrshire Farm has been selected as a feature farm to host Outstanding in the Field for the seventh time. Guest Chef Tarver King will prepare a four course, family style meal using certified organic, certified humane, heritage-breed meats produced by Ayrshire Farm and locally sourced vegetables. Founded in 1999, Outstanding in the Field will celebrate its 20-year anniversary this year and now hosts events in all 50 states and across the globe in 15 countries. Based on the idea of bringing the restaurant to the ingredients rather than the other way around, Outstanding in the Field aims to connect diners with the origins of their food while celebrating the farmers who produce it. Eric Thompson and Crystal Ritenour, who oversee the farming operation at Ayrshire will be on site to discuss the rare, heritage-breed livestock, including Gloucester Old Spot pork, Scottish Highland beef and heritage breed turkey, as well as heirloom varieties of fruits and vegetables, served at the dinner. The Ayrshire Farm Heritage Breed & Wine Dinner has limited seating at $265 per person. Dinner is served at 3:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.
