Bastille day is the anniversary of Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789, a turning point of the French Revolution, as well as the Fête de la Fédération which celebrated the unity of the French people on 14 July 1790. Celebrations are held throughout France. For those that can’t make it to The City of Lights or other cities in the country, Chefs/owners Christophe and Michelle Poteaux of Bastille restaurant in Old Town Alexandria, offer a taste of France to celebrate Bastille Day. All week long, the restaurant will offer a three-course prix fixe dinner of French classics to celebrate the French National Holiday. Bastille’s regular menu will also be available. The menu includes such staples as Escargots Provencales, Moules Frites, Truite & Ratatouille, Magret de Canard and Steak, Crème Caramel à la Vanille, Crêpes au Nutella.
