There’s something magical about springtime in the South, especially in New Orleans: when the aroma swirling around the air is a masterful medley of cayenne pepper, lemon, bay leaf and garlic. It’s time to get eatin’, it’s crawfish season. Transporting the juiciest, plumpest 'mudbugs' from the wild waterways of Louisiana to the DMV, Bayou Bakery will be boiling up crawfish in true N’awlins fashion. New Orleans native Chef David Guas will be hosting his annual Crawfish Boil with in-person festivities as well as Boils in a Bucket To-Geaux with all the fixins'. For those joining in the celebrations at Bayou Bakery - the vibrant tunes of a live band will boost the spirited occasion, conveying the soul of New Orleans through music. Entry is $35 per person, and includes two pounds of crawfish, potatoes, corn, coleslaw, cornbread, and a mini-muffaletta. Or, opt for Boils in a Bucket To-Geaux and enjoy the bugs and beer at home - priced by the pound at $15, includes: one pound of crawfish, potatoes, and corn. Wash it all down with special-priced drinks, from $3-$12, featuring wine, white claws, frozen daiquiris, and cocktails. And, load up with icy cold brews by the bucket - starting at just $10 for five cans of Miller High Life and $15 for five Abita Brewing Company beers.  It's the real deal - the only New Orleans native-owned, Louisiana eatery, sharing the culture and community of Southern foodways in the DMV for the past ten years. 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. On Saturday, May 15th at 1:30 p.m., Bayou Bakery will close for regular business to accommodate dine-in guests for the Crawfish Boil and those patrons picking up Boils in a Bucket To-Geaux. To join for the in-person Crawfish Boil or to order To-Geaux - pay in advance and call Bayou Bakery at 703.243.2410. For more information, please click here.
