The Fish & Chips Cook-Off Fundraiser returns on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Bidwell Restaurant inside Union Market. This delicious evening features a head-to-head culinary showdown between three of D.C.’s standout chefs:

Chef John Mooney (Bidwell)

Chef Ryan Gordon (The Queen Vic)

Chef Fiona Lewis (The District Fishwife)

Attendees will enjoy arrival cocktails from 6:30–7:00 p.m., followed by a tasting and blind voting session from 7:00–9:00 p.m. Two winners will be crowned: “Fan Favorite”, voted by guests, and “Firefighter Favorite,” judged by a panel of three local D.C. firefighters.

Tickets are $65 and include:

Generous tasting portions from all three chefs (with mushy peas & coleslaw)

Two complimentary drinks (beer, wine, Jameson Black Barrel & Código 1530 cocktails, and NA options)

One voting ballot

All proceeds benefit Food on the Stove, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the health and wellness of D.C. firefighters through access to nutritious meals and culinary education.
