Food and Friends Thanksgiving Meals Against Inflation Volunteer Event

This Thanksgiving, join hundreds of volunteers as they help Food & Friends staff for meal packing and deliveries to the homes of individuals living with a life challenging illness. Staff and volunteers will prepare 8,520lbs of turkey, 1,065lbs of roasted potaties, 1,065lbs of cornbread stuffing, 94 gallons of gravy, 76 gallons of butternut squash soup, 780lbs of buttered corn, 780lbs of braised collard greens, 650lbs of cranberry sauce, 1,420 pieces of fresh fruit, and 5,680 dinner rolls for 4,030 Thanksgiving meals that will each feed five people. Preparation events will take place November 22nd through 24th from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Food & Friends' facility , 219 Riggs Road NE, Washington DC. Distribution of meals will take place at the Fort Totten Metro Station Parking Lot beginning at 7:30 a.m. November 25th.
