Nomad With Carlton McCoy
600 I Street NW
Master Sommelier Carlton McCoy is on a journey of discovery. In the new CNN Original Series, “Nomad with Carlton McCoy,” the classically trained chef and arbiter of cool is on a quest to find the places where food, music, art, and culture collide in some of the world’s most well-known destinations. From the bustling streets of Seoul to the riverside towns along the Mississippi River, the six-part series chases what it means to be authentic, celebrating the similarities and differences across the world to illuminate the universal threads that connect us all. Ahead of the series premiere on Sunday, March 13th on CNN, you’re invited to an advanced screening of the Washington, DC episode (dorty-four minutes), followed by an in-person conversation with McCoy and CNN Senior Legal Analyst and SiriusXM Host, Laura Coates. In this deeply personal episode, McCoy, a Southeast DC kid of mixed race, returns home to uncover the real DC, where Go-Go music is the sound of the streets and savvy chefs are re-inventing the culture. But coming home also brings back difficult memories as McCoy reconnects with family and friends and develops a better understanding of his past and what made him who he is today. At this in-person event, masks and proof of vaccination are required including a photo ID that matches the name on the vaccination card. This is a free event. RSVP required. 7:00 p.m., but doors open at 6:00 p.m. For more information, please click here.
