Patty Party On National Burger Day
717 6th Street NW | 105 King Street, Alexandria VA
National Burger Day is right around the corner and DC area restaurants are breaking out the big guns (read: big buns) to celebrate. Chinatown’s Bar Deco and Old Town’s seafood stalwart Fish Market are throwing a patty party with half-price burgers all day long. At Bar Deco, your half-priced hamburger choices include their signature 901 Burger served open-faced with Swiss cheese, a perfectly fried egg, pickled red onions and pub mustard stacked high on caramelized onion bread pudding in lieu of a bun (you read that right), the Belly Burger with fried pork belly, classic American cheese, crispy onion straws, bourbon glaze and tangy horseradish cream, and the Monumental Burger starring 12-hour braised short rib ragu, white cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and dijonnaise sauce. Note for all vegetarians, vegans and general vegetable enthusiasts, all Bar Deco burgers are now also available as veggie burgers. Over at Fish Market where seafood is the star, burgers are taking center stage for the day. Carnivores can choose from a Double Mushroom & Onion Burger made with two patties topped with sauteed mushrooms and onions, Swiss cheese and A-1 aioli, the Old Town Burger featuring BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, crisp bacon, LTO, pickle and a golden-fried onion ring, and the Chesapeake burger, a classic hamburger honoring the region that comes topped with Fish Market’s famous crab dip and Old Bay chips. All hamburgers on the menus at both Bar Deco and Fish Market will be half-price all day on August 27.
