Celebrate the Fourth of July with the annual concert on bells from the tranquility of the Taft Memorial and Carillon. By resolution of Congress, the Carillonneur of the Capitol will play The Star Spangled Banner and other patriotic favorites from the 11-story bell tower to commemorate America's Independence. Bring your own blanket and refreshments, invite all your friends and family, and enjoy the cascading notes of bells from the shade of the memorial knoll. The picnic will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m, with the bells beginning at 2:00 p.m. This event is free, held outdoors rain or shine, and open to everyone.
