On Wednesday, May 21st, from 6:30 to 9:30 PM, Matisse in Washington, DC will host a special spring dinner featuring Jean Trimbach, seventh-generation owner of the legendary Maison Trimbach. With a winemaking legacy dating back to 1626, Trimbach is renowned for crafting elegant, dry Alsatian wines defined by balance, precision, and a strong sense of place. Jean Trimbach will be present to share the story of his family's iconic estate, pour a curated selection of wines, and guide guests through what makes these bottles so timeless. The evening will include a five-course seasonal menu designed to showcase the freshness of spring and the remarkable versatility of Trimbach wines, with seven distinct pairings throughout the night. Courses include Tarte Flambée with the 2017 Pinot Gris Réserve, Boudin Blanc on Rösti with the 2022 Pinot Noir Réserve, and Fresh Local Soft-Shell Crabs paired with both the 2021 Riesling and the 2015 Riesling Frédéric Émile. Additional highlights include Pan-Seared Hokkaido Scallops served with the 2021 Riesling Vieilles Vignes and the 2019 Riesling Grand Cru Schlossberg, followed by a Matisse Pavlova with Trimbach Poire William Grand Réserve for dessert. The evening promises to be relaxed yet refined—an unforgettable night of food, wine, and conversation. Tickets are $195 per person.
