Chris Johnson specializes in thought-provoking sake- and food-pairing experiences that are approachable yet refined. By combining his reverence for traditional Japanese flavors with his own Western perspective, he aspires to demystify sake for global audiences and palates. Chris is a certified sake sommelier, a Joy of Sake board of directors member, and has served as a senior judge for the U.S. National Sake Appraisal since 2000. Chris has also judged for the International Wine Challenge Sake since 2015 and is a certified WSET Level 3 Sake Educator, earning the distinguished title of Sake Samurai in 2013.
