Where:
Cranes Spanish Kaiseki
724 9th Street NW

For National Women’s Day on Tuesday, March 8th, Michelin-Starred Cranes, along with Sommelier Eric Stewart Woodruff are highlighting some amazing women in the Sake industry. Chizuko Niikawa-Helton (Sake Samurai, Sake Discoveries NYC), Jessica Joly Crane (Miss Sake USA-NYC), and Reiko Hirai (DC Sake cō) have come together using their talents to put a memorable event together in celebration of this special day; curating a premium list of sake chosen for this special event. Chef Pepe Moncayo will be creating a specific Omakase menu, along with locally-sourced ingredients as well as seafood, meat, and vegetables and things that he finds inspiring in the marketplace today. These experts in sake will be pouring and helping educate on selections, while imparting some knowledge about Japan's most famous drink in general during the event. The sake selection will also be available for retail sale outside of the event through DC Sake cō; and the chosen Japanese elixirs will also be served all month long following the event. This event is very limited, with roughly fifty seats total. The cost will cover five pairings and omakase, plus tax and gratuity. The cost is $325 per person with a $25 deposit. Tuesday, March 8th, at 6:00 p.m. For more information and tickets, please click here.
