Virtual Happy Hour Mary Vaux Walcott Celebration
Virual Event
Join the National Museum of Women in the Arts for a virtual happy hour to celebrate mountaineer, glacial geologist, photographer, and botanist Mary Vaux Walcott (1860–1940), who combined an artistic sensibility with intrepid spirit and scientific curiosity. Walcott's travels, artwork, and publications helped introduce the United States to the sublime and beautiful Canadian Rockies. Her distinctive botanical illustrations rendered plants to scale, uncommon for the time. Make a specialty cocktail (or mocktail) with mixologist Chrissy Sheffey in her honor as you share artworks, stories and explore the museum's collection and archives for all things Walcott. This is a free, virtual event. Reservations required. For more information or to RSVP, please click here.
