Fall in the DMV = Festival Season, New Openings & New Chefs  And, they’re all on Foodie & The Beast: 
-Calendar marked? Taste of Bethesda is Saturday, October 5th. Stephanie Coppula, Director of Marketing and Communications for the Bethesda Urban Partnership is in with the all the details, AND Jose Manuel Mendez and Julio Mejia from Cubano’s Restaurant to mix up some cocktails and return guest Molly Gibson from Rooted3 with the veggie-based drinks we love.
-You know Chef Pepe Moncayo from Cranes and now know him for his soon to open, Arrels. Set to open at the Arlo DC hotel later this Fall, the menu will showcase a modern take on classic Spanish cuisine.
-Cork’s new Executive Chef Cicile Mendy joins owner Diane Gross. We chat with this classically trained, chef about how she’s remaking the menu and pairing it with Cork’s selection of sustainable wines from small producers. 
-Alice will be in the house. Alice Waters that is. Food History Week is coming to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. Paula Johnson, Curator of Food History at the Museum, has all the details on the fabulous foodie weekend.
