Chef Alex McCoy has opened up a Thai stand in Union Market: Som Tam. The stand specializes in Northeastern Thai street foods, such as Pounded Salads, Khao Soi (a Curry Soup), and Khao Gaeng (Curry Rice). Lekki Limvatana and Satang Ruangsangwanata, known for Fat Nomads Supper Club, are currently leading the project. McCoy is also planning to open a shop in NoMa this summer; borrowing inspiration from the business of Thailand's streets, which will operate out of a converted ATM vestibule. www.somtamdc.com
