Chef Mike Friedman and his team behind DC restaurants All-Purpose Pizzeria, The Red Hen, and Boundary Stone have opened a new restaurant in Bethesda, Maryland. Aventino is named after one of the seven major hills in Rome Aventino showcases vibrant and traditional Roman cuisine with nods to the Roman-Jewish ghetto and Mid-Atlantic seasonal ingredients, as well as a selection of spritzes and negronis. The space is two-levels and features enough space for up to 130 guests. Some menu highlights guests can get excited for include Gnocco Fritto, Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe, Rigatoni alla Gricia, and more more. The beverage program is designed by Chelsey Cantanucci and features a selection of spritzes and negronis, as well as a vibrant Italian-leaning wine list from Wine Director Joe Quinn. Aventino is open for dinner Sunday - Thursday from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 5:00 - 10:00 p.m. For more information, visit their website here.
