The New York-based French Bakery and Cafè, Maman, has officially began its D.C. expansion with the opening of their new Downtown Bethesda location. Maman is owned by co-founders Elisa Marshall and Benjamin Sormonte, and they offer guests salads, sandwiches, Nutty Chocolate Chip Cookies (made famous by Oprah), and more. An exclusive menu item to this Bethesda location is the Crogel, which is a bagel made with croissant dough, topped with smoked salmon, cream cheese, dill and pickle onions. The decor boasts florals, vintage windows, and antique furniture, as well as an outdoor patio and private event space. Maman will be continuing their D.C. expansion with locations opening in Georgetown and Union Market.
