2022 National Cherry Blossom Festival Opening Ceremony

On Sunday, March 20th the National Cherry Blossom Festival will kick off the 2022 Festival season with the annual signature Opening Ceremony, taking place on the first day of spring at the historic Warner Theatre. The artistic celebration, co-presented by The Japan Foundation, will showcase a dazzling array of performing arts and culture from Japan and the U.S. and will also mark the 110th anniversary of the 1912 gift of trees from Tokyo to Washington, D.C. The National Cherry Blossom Festival is one of the world’s great celebrations of spring. Hosted from March 20th through April 17th, the 2022 Festival will include four weeks of events featuring diverse and creative programming that promotes traditional and contemporary arts and culture, natural beauty, and community spirit.
